Financial Security

With bizBaron, you can choose to support any combination of three payment methods: settlement (at the time the sale or service is rendered), callback (a return call from a service representative), or PayPal® (payment is completed when ordering on the web). For all of the supported payment methods, no sensitive financial information is stored within, or visible to, the bizBaron application.

If you elect to use PayPal® to process transactions over the web, your customers are transferred to the PayPal® website to complete the transaction. At no time is any sensitive financial information visible to the bizBaron application.

PayPal®, an eBay company, was established in 1998, and has since been a widely accepted source for processing financial transactions over the web. PayPal® currently has 71 million account members worldwide, so there is a good possibility that your customers already have an established PayPal® account. Establishing a PayPal® account is free - you only pay transactional fees when you start accepting payments through PayPal®.

To understand how it works, read some of the high-level details below.

PayPal®

Setup

» The details for setting up PayPal® to work with your bizBaron-hosted site can be found within the online help. The steps include creating a free PayPal® business account, setup of IPN (Instant Payment Notification), and selecting PayPal® as a supported payment method within the bizBaron application (don't forget to enter your PayPal® business account email address).
» For additional e-commerce options and seller protection for your web-based transactions, refer to the "Merchant Tools" tab within your PayPal® account.


Transactions

Once your website is setup to accept PayPal® as a payment method, your customers will be able to pay for their orders through PayPal®.
» Your customer selects products, services, appointments, and/or subscriptions/memberships for their cart through the standard bizBaron shopping cart process.
» During the checkout process, your customer selects PayPal® as their payment method, and is transferred to the PayPal® website to complete their payment. (Note: If your only supported payment method is PayPal®, your customer must pay for their order through PayPal®.)
» PayPal® communicates with your website to update the status of the order based on whether the payment succeeded or failed.
» After completing their payment, your customer is transferred back to your website where they can view the completed transaction details.
» If you need to refund a customer's payment, simply refund the payment through your PayPal® account. The PayPal® website communicates with your website to update the order status to "Refunded".
Financial information is neither transferred nor visible outside of PayPal® through this entire process. Please refer to your PayPal® account for fees associated with your web-based transactions.
